T55 Engine Increases Soldier Safety with More Power in Hot Climates
PHOENIX, Aug. 17, 2010– Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today it has delivered the first 28 Honeywell T55-L-714A engines and fielding kits for the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense (MOD) Chinook helicopters, as part of the $185 million contract awarded last year to upgrade the existing Honeywell engines.
The upgraded engines increase power by 17 percent and reduce fuel consumption by nearly 5 percent.
